Dr. Rachelle Salem, DVM is an emergency veterinarian at Northeast Veterinary Referral Hospital in Plains.

Dr. Salem comes to us after working previously in a busy mixed animal ER practice. Her career has evolved greatly from starting as a mixed animal practitioner with a heavy focus on her cow and other ruminant patients and then switching gears and becoming a solely small animal practitioner offering general practice and emergency services including medical and surgical interventions. Most recently her focus has been in small animal emergency medicine.

She is a proud Aggie graduating from Delaware Valley College which is now Delaware Valley University. She spent most of her time at Delval throwing on the track team where she also met her husband. She attended The Ohio State University for Veterinary School but has remained with her roots and is still a strong Penn State sports fan. Outside of work she spends most of her time with her ever growing family of fur kids. Of course, she also enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends!

There is nothing more important to Dr. Salem than offering your fur kids the care and medicine she would give her own.

From Happy Pet Owners

  • My pup Fiona has had both CCL’s fixed in her hind legs by Dr. Hassinger. He has been straight-forward about everything from the start. I couldn’t be happier with what he has done with her. The staff is also patient and kind, you can tell that they really love every animal that comes through those doors.
