At Northeast Veterinary Referral Hospital our surgical center is a state-of-the-art facility. We offer the treatment of a wide array of surgical conditions including orthopedic, soft tissue, neurologic, oncologic (cancer), and thoracic conditions. Surgical procedures are performed using the latest in pain management techniques and the safest anesthetic protocols. After surgery, your pet will recover under the supervision of a surgical team member. If an overnight stay is required, the compassionate team of emergency veterinarians, licensed veterinary technicians and veterinary assistants will care for your pet twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week!
Dr. Runde performs abdominal ultrasounds for liver, gall bladder, spleen, kidney, pancreatic and urinary bladder problems. He also offers cardiac ultrasounds for heart and lung problems. Internal medicine also offers endoscopy, colonoscopy, rhinoscopy and bronchoscopy, diagnostics and therapeutics for endocrine and infectious diseases such as Cushing’s, Addison’s, thyroid or electrolyte disorders, diabetes, lyme disease and leptospirosis.
Physical rehabilitation is a branch of veterinary medicine aimed to enhance and/or restore function and improve quality of life in animals with physical impairments. Today, rehabilitation services are becoming a valuable resource in both veterinary referral centers and general practices nationwide. Modalities available for animal physical rehabilitation include: aquatic therapy (underwater treadmill, pool, or whirlpool), therapeutic LASER, acupuncture, electrical stimulation, therapeutic ultrasound, massage, joint mobilizations, hot and cold therapy, passive range of motion, stretch, and therapeutic exercises.

As a distinguished cardiologist, Dr. Goodwin performs echocardiograms (ultrasound assessments for cardiovascular disease), electrocardiograms (electrical assessments for cardiac rhythm disturbances), and holter monitoring (24-48 hr. assessments of the rhythm of the heart). Pre-breeding screens can also be performed to help your doctor distinguish between cardiopulmonary disease and non cardiac disease. Appointments are currently being accepted for Monday afternoons.
